About UsLeicester Lions Rugby Football Club play a major role at senior level in the county. The club has grown from an amalgamation of Westleigh RFC and Wigston RFC boasting a joint history and heritage of 200 years between them.
Introducing rugby to new people is a primary aim of Leicester Lions RFC both for our own club but also as a springboard to higher things, as Martin Johnson captain of England, Leicester Tigers and a junior player at our club would testify. Other Leicester Tigers players who began their junior careers with our club include Harry Ellis and Louis Deacon both England U21's.
